Yes
I use a Nikon D50 which is more than adequate for my needs except for the size of the screen. I helped a friend last week at a wedding,( purely as a back up while he was videoing before anyone tells me the D50 isn't suitable,) and he was using a D300 with the 3" screen. I wear glasses for reading and normally put them on to review my shots, but on this occasion I obviously didn't have time, I could however see his images quite clearly without specs. The other thing I liked was the ease in which he could enlarge the image with one button whereas I have to use two and then the control wheel. Now I'm not in the same league financially as the D300, and although I would love a D90 I don't think I will ever be able to afford one, so what do folks think about the entry level models, I guess I could cope without the internal motor and I could probably get used to not having the top LCD.
I have read comments about people regretting selling their D50s, but I couldn't afford to change without selling mine, and I would probably also need to do a part exchange with my telescope which I would miss, but I get more use from a camera. Any thoughts would be welcome.

What!!! Nobody have anything to say about the latest batch of Nikons? I am very surprised, I thought I would have had loads of opinions. I know it comes down to my decision in the end and didn't expect anyone to tell me what to do, but surely someone out there must have some thoughts!

Well this is unbelievable! not one single opinion from all those Nikon owners out there, I was expecting all sorts of replies ranging from don't change, do buy this one, don't buy that one. This isn't the sort of question one can ask in a shop as I suspect most try to sell whatever they make most money on, and looking for this sort of information was the main reason I joined TP. Come on, please let me have your opinions! I've never been let down before on any other question I have asked, help me keep faith with the forums.

cant comment when you a cannon user
also you seemed to give your opinion of the answer you looking for.in your post

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply anyway, even if you couldn't help. I did manage to get some response from the Amateur Photographer forums but I am very disapointed not to have any input from here, makes me wonder if it is worth asking anything again, although this is where I will be buying and selling if I can make a decision, which is why I was asking the question in the first place. I know I said I would like a D90, but it is unlikely that I will ever be able to afford one which is why I was interested in members views on the entry level models.
