Help,
I recently received a Lastolite 2408 (although on the
bracket and on the packaging the description is a2409).
However there is a problem, the info, press releases etc..
state that the cold shoe on to which the flash connects
is removable to reveal a screw thread to which a sc-29
ttl cable can be attached, not so!
The one I have has a cold shoe which is permanently
connected and so the fixing of my ttl cable in the brackets
current state is not possible.
A nice man at Lastolite (Gary) told me he will send me a small
bracket which should solve the problem but is this really
the way to do things?
Does anybody have one of these that actually does what it
say's it should,if so please let me know. One of my concerns is
that I may have been given old or obsolete stock.
I thought Lastolite made these but the man said "Well that's
what our suppliers sent us"
Rgds Steve.

It looks to me as if the entire top section unscrews from the extending arm, so it could easily be replaced with a small ballhead or umbrella adapter.

Hey I used to live in Bishops Stortford. :)

Thankyou both, the entire top section is removable so that
other things can be attached to the exposed spigot but re the
attachment of a ttl cable it is as previously mentioned, the cold
shoe"should"unscrew to reveal the thread underneath to which
the ttl is connected, there is even an image showing just this
on the packaging.
It's just weird that the manufacture should change the design,
thus preventing the connection of this newish Nikon product and I believe
some Canon products, considering the amount of the camera market
Nikon and Canon have.
You know, you spend a grand or two,or more and you have
contact the people you have spent fifty quid with and they say
"Oh yes for it to work, you need a little attachment,Ive got some
knocking about somewhere,if I can find them I'll send you one.
Which part of Stortford....Really sorry for the moan..Steve
