I am new to the site but not to photography. I have been a portrait photographer for about 6 years. I want to know other people's feelings on monitors for editing.
I bought my current desktop a few years ago and when I got it I just could not get used to the beautiful monitor it came with. It was a nice LCD monitor and I thought I would love it BUT I found that as I edit a batch of images, my physical position shifts. I slouch, or lean, or scoot forward in my seat. Then when I readjust - the colors look different. UGH. I ended up giving my son the monitor and going back to my old bulky monitor that I was used to. I have the same issue with the laptop. So I can never do full editing on the laptop - only sorting and cropping. I would love to be able to have more flexibility in my editing "area" and wonder what I will do when my monitor dies and I have to upgrade. Does anyone else have issues like this and if so what do you do about it.
