LCD screen protection

I have used Fuji screen protector in previous cameras. It is fine. Appears to be much the same as Larmor. Now I just leave the Nikon plastic cover on, but some users may want to take that off for checking focus.
 
make sure u get a proper GGS, ive had one which was sold as ggs but wasnt, damn thing broke quickly and the hard glass scratched the screen :|

proper GGS have been excellent so far

oh and if you expect to use live view alot, theres a decent "perfect viewfinder" which is pretty good in my limited use so far

I think the theory goes along the lines that the screen glass is so hard that nothing will damage it. I don't accept that. Something can damage it.

Giotto/Aegis market screen protectors that are made from tempered optical glass. May be worth looking at.

I;ve put one in my D3 last night and it lasted 2 second, but that was my fault due to human error. I've mis align the protector by a little bit so I tried to peer it off and re-align but end up shuttering the protector glass. Thank god the D3 LCD screen is not damage or scratch.

I think I will leave it without one. After reading the debate over to put one on or not, it seems the pro body like D3, D4 etc LCD is already tough enough to withstand any pressure or damage. I guess thats probably why Nikon didn't include one on their pro bodies. I've read a forum somewhere where it mention the LCD glass can be replace easily if is damage or scratch.
 
I've always used cheap non-branded LCD protectors, not the hard plastic ones but the soft flexible ones, and I've never had an issue with them. Of course the most expensive camera I've had is a Canon 6D which is 1/4 the price of a D4S so I can understand if you want to buy something a bit more sturdy. Just my 5 pence :)

I've never scratched or damaged an LCD screen but I guess not everyone is so careful (judging by the scrapes on some kit that comes up for sale :) )
 
I think is like a mobile phone thing with this LCD protector.

I don't put a LCD protector on my mobile phone and they never get scratch but my wife do.

I have a BMW and I don't put protector on my windscreen lol.

I personally thinks if it makes you feel better by putting one on then go for it.
 
GGS are the only ones that i have ever bought and i wouldnt buy any other. Always a solid investment
