Doing a filming thing for a friend of mine who is a pretty succesful photographer and was showing him the footage from the 5dmk2 and let him have a play with it.
He is gonna shoot a vid for me too sometime as well. But he noticed it was hard to see the screen in sunlight and said that he would get a view finder for me. I mentioned they are about £100 as a ball park but I was wondering if anyone had seen any around that are decent.

If you have liveview, the Zigview live could be a contender. It's not perfect but it's reasonably bright and has a shutter button on it. Not sure how it works with the 5D and movies but it works just fine on a D700 in live view mode. Wish I'd had it with me a couple of weeks ago when I was shooting with a fisheye at monopod's length for some overhead type shots - had to guess the framing and try again (and again and again!!!)

You could try one of these - Hoodman loupe

Thanks, ideally I want something thats going to make life easier to focus and offers stability. I was thinking the LCDVF but it kinda looks cheap and it doesnt allow for crappy eyesight.
