Since still and motion photography are becoming pretty close I was wondering if anyone was using LED light panels for still photography? I'm wondering if they are as close to constant light source as you can get without suffering frequency problems. Would be interested to hear anyones experiences with these.

I think the price v performance for photography is still prohibitive from what i have read, and i cant see that changing for years to come.
Great for Movies but not so much for photography compared to what we already have.

I know Jerry Ghionis uses them but at £2.5K a panel I agree with Craig in that the pricing is prohibitive for all but the small camera mounted ones.

dave hobby (strobist) wrote about using these aaaages ago, even referencing some iphone app that just turns the screen white lol...

For many stills, they just won't really chuck out enough light and it'd be easier and cheaper just to use flash, especially seeing as a normal litepanel is £300ish iirc... lots of wedding photogs use pag lights though, but they probably like the effect of the warm coloured light...
