The new LED TV do not come with any SCART sockets but we still have the VCR [yes, some kids programs in there] and DVD both have SCART outputs. How do one connects these devices to a LED TV which only have HDMI sockets and one set of Component? :help: :help:

You can also get a scart to component cable.

Don't think you can get scart to HDMI, might be worth inversting in a scart switching box to run all your devices to and then run a scart to comp cable to the back of your TV - you might loose a little quality.

If you're buying on of those bare in mind that the cheaper ones only work in one direction. Some are wired for a scart output and some for a scart input. The better ones are switchable.

If you have more then one scart on the VCR you might be able to attach the DVD to the VCR then the VCR to the TV.

Of course it's possibly a good excuse to get a blu-ray player that'll also play DVDs and will have an HDMI output.

Thanks guys for all your help and advice.

I have tried all these solutions listed in your posts but I forgot to mention that along with the VCR and DVD, there is also a WII which unfortunately do not have any SCART or HDMI slot on it but a proprietary slot. I can buy a WII connector where one end goes in the WII and the other end comes out with 5 connectors for the similar 5 conncetors on the LED TV but then what do I do with the VCR & the DVD? :gag:

What TV is it? As far as I am aware the samsung ones come with a single scart connector on a breakout lead, and you could then use a scart switch to switch between the DVD and Scart.

For the wii you can get a component cable. You should also get a better picture from the WII using the component lead.

That's the TV Linky

I can assure you it does not have a scart socket. :)

I think you are right. A friend of mine owns the TV rather than me hence can't check the socket personally but have emailed him accordingly and thanks to TP forum. :)
