Lee v Hitech

Got to the point, where its time to invest in a system, thats going to be a long and lasting filter system.

Is Lee really worth the coin , do they really invest in the photographers needs ?

Hitech , have they improved, and are they knocking on the door and are they now the filter leaders ?

Have max of £250 , to get me going , either Lee or Colby Brown Hitech

be great to get your thoughts, im lucky that i live in Scotland ( no vote btw ) so hills, sea,, mountains will be my quarry

Hi no expert but the lee kit you show has 2 filters a grad and nd I just bought the lee foundation kit and a 0.75 hard grad plus filter ring. I am thinking of adding either a 0.6 or 0.9 soft nd for decent cross use. Plus the big stopper nearly bought one on the forum tonight but pipped at post lol

I did have Hitech but for me I found I had more colour correction. In process think lee is a bit easier it's fair to say for me though I like dramatic cloud so maybe less density would do you well

One of the big advantages of Lee is their quality control - and that's where a lot of the cost goes.

Their ND grads for example. The colour is properly neutral, it's always the same across different filters, and the grad line, either hard or soft, will also be the same every time.

Have you tried multiple exposure blending before you commit the money? Wavy line of mountains could be sometimes a little tricky with grads

You'd struggle shooting this in a single frame
