Leeds clubs or courses

Hi Everyone

I am a complete newbie to this forum so would just like to take the chance to say hello first of all

I am also a relative newcomer to the world of DSLR having just purchased a Nikon D50 and I am now starting to get my head around apertures , ISO values etc and the reasoning behind them (having only ever owned a point and shoot previously) and I guess my next step is to try and put these in to practice, however I was wondering if anyone knew of any clubs, courses etc within the Leeds area.
I think I would progress a lot quicker with some kind of more formal training or help, just to reassure me I am not picking up any bad habits and am heading in the right direction. Generally give me a basic technical grounding from which I can build on . I don't have any particular field of photography I want to concentrate on however I would maybe look at landscape, portrait etc to begin with

Any advice you can offer would be appreciated

There's quite a few of us here from Leeds , just post up a meet or join in with one . There's also a couple of groups on flickr that you could join . Just search for Leeds .
