Hi all,

I spend about 4 days a month up in Leeds but I don't know the area at all well. I generally go there, do my work and leave. Can anyone point me in the way of scenic / interesting places to try and capture?
Thanks!

Steve

Where abouts do you stay? Plenty of good architecture around the city centre these days. Or get yourself out towards Otley/Ilkley way. Not far and is very pretty.

I've just moved to Leeds, I've been looking around for nice locations too. Found an amazing viaduct and canal around the area of the appropriately named Viaduct Road. It's quite close to Armley Mills. There's actually two canals here, one has an amazing rustic looking footbridge with the viaduct in the background.

Hope that helps!

From Garforth go round the ring road as you drop down towards Otley on your right is Otley chevin. carry on towards Ilkley and and above the town is Ilkley moor. google them to find car parks etc. further out on the same road yo will get to Skipton. Alternatively head towards Castleford and go to Allerton Bywater.

And the list can go on

Glad to know I'm not the only one then!

In the city there is a lot of interesting architecture, a mix of ancient and new, there's the waterfront, Victorian quarter, Millennium Sq, Tetleys Brewery Wharf, the canal and river run straight through, there's Leeds Market, the Corn Exchange, Turks head yard and a fair smattering of characters walking through it all..:)
