Left handed compact camera

Ousting on behalf of a friend. He is after a camera for his mother buy she suffers from carpel tunnel in her right hand and finds it very difficult to operate the shutter button.
Initial thoughts were to find a cheap compact which can be operated by a touch screen.
Any suggestions?

I don't think there are any specific left handed cameras, but you could consider a camera with a touch screen that allows you to use it as a shutter, then you could hold the camera in whichever hand is best. :shrug:

There are some Panasonic compats, and CSC which let you do that, and also focus by touching the screen too. There's probably other manufacturers which have similar features.

TZ30 is touch screen where you can not only focus but can take a pic from the rear screen by touching where you want to focus.
