My father in law has a Leica P&S which is a rebadged Panasonic which has developed a blob in the photos, it's either stuck on the sensor although I think it's on the lens as when you zoom it moves.

Any recommendations on somewhere local to repair it in Coventry?

I cannot think of anywhere in Coventry...how old is it?

Your best be is the check for authorised repair centres on the Leica website :thumbs:

Trouble with any p/s is the sensor's about the last thing you get to when the camera's dismantled and there are lots of tiny screws and ribbon cable attachments to contend with, I've tried it with very mixed results!
As for your Leica, I'm guessing it's a D-Lux 2 or three, Leica dealers will return it to Germany at the Leica Repair Centre in Solms and Leica will charge approximately €195 plus VAT.
I know this because I've a faulty D-Lux 3 (flash won't switch on in the menu) and I contacted the Leica dealer in London.
Shame, great little cameras but can't justify that sort of money. Only other thing you could try is an independent or have a go yourself, if you're brave enough :)

If you have a rocket blower it'll be worth blowing around all the joints as much as you can as you may just blast it out of the way.
 
If you should want to try an independent, I would highly recommend Miles Whitehead, he does practically any sort of repair/service at very high quality, but for a very reasonable price a lot of the time in comparison to his competitors. Email him for a quote as I can pretty much near guarantee it will be less than what Leica want.
