I'm looking for somewhere that rents a Leica M6.

Main reason is because I'd like to try one for a weekend before I jump two feet first in!

I had a look and there seems to be nowhere in the uk.

Is there somewhere I might have missed?

Not sure you can rent an M6, where you thinking of buying it from? If you buy carefully even if you didn't like it (which is unlikely) you could sell it for what you paid practically.
 
Leica Mayfair rent S series and also have an into to M series workshop. Might be worth asking them.

You know that lots of people think you aren't supposed to use them.....
 
I've seen people renting/testing the M9, but not an M6 as they haven't made them for 10 years, but I suppose it might be possible. People do use them though, the high end special editions or sometimes the coveted Black paint ones are usually kept in safes, but the Leica forum is full of users film and digital.

Red Dot Cameras are a good and trusted dealer who might be worth contacting and from my experience well worth buying from. You do have Ffordes in Scotland up near Inverness, but it is a bit of a trek from Glasgow (I'm just outside Glasgow).
