Lencarta - Way to fix the wobble?

Hi, I bought a pair of pro elite studio lights earlier in the week and have to say that after using them for the first time today on a paid session I am very impression. They are exactly what I need and they now put my other two lights (on the white background) to shame.

I have a couple of points to mention though, the first is that the connection on the bottom of the lights seems to be of a weird size so they don't fit on stands without wobbling. They work fine but it means if you adjust the lights, they drop a few inches when you let go. Has anyone found a way to resolve this?

The wireless receivers are very good but it would be better if the USB receivers were built into the units as it's just another thing that could get lost or break off. The transmitter is also very good but it's a shame it has an on/off switch as you could easily forget to turn it off.

I'm very pleased with the lights and would recommend them to anyone as the performance appears to be excellent. I'm not sure how long they will last but if they do well I will be buying more.

If anyone has any tips on how to stop the wobble, that would be great.

Lencarta heads have the same universal 5/8in attachment socket as every other studio head. If it doesn't fit straight right on, you must have a very unusual stand - it should have a 5/8in male spigot.

It was the stands that came from Lencarta with the lights.
 
I would be slightly concerned you are not loosening the thumb screw enough and they are not dropping fully onto the spigot, you are tightening onto the wider part of the spigot at the top which would indeed create wobble and act as a pivot... the next stop is they actually fall off, so worth checking.
 
The locking knob is on there and I have put them on as far as they go. The black part of the stand will physically stop them going on any further.
 
OK, can you grab a photo of them, both 'at rest' as it were and if possible showing the 'wobble' or lean? Also, maybe photos of them separated, both spigot end of stands and the mounts of the heads themselves. It is possible you have 2 faulty units [stands or heads] but that would be unusual. However if you have, I think it is fair to say Lencarta are very good at sorting stuff out.

There is nothing to see, it's just a hole that fits on top of a post. I can take a video of it wobbling but before I post that for the whole wide world I am going to give the manufacturer a chance to address the issue.
 
I have just seen this thread, Jamie has now sent me a PM and I have asked for more details so that the problem, whatever is causing it, can be resolved.

Incidentally, the reason that we have plug in receivers rather than building them into the units is simply because, if a receiver fails, it's much easier/cheaper just to plug in another receiver than to send the whole unit off for repair. The reason that the transmitter doesn't have auto off is that there's nothing more frustrating than to take a perfectly timed shot and then find that the unit had switched itself off:)

I was being picky but point taken about the plug in receivers and it just so happens that I always have AA batteries in my bag anyway but the reason I mentioned the switch was at first I didn't see it and left it turned out because my last two transmitters had no switch. I'm pleased with them though.

I presume you will be at the photography show? If so will you be taking any of your additional modifiers with you?
 
Lencarta will be at the Photography Show and will have a good range of modifiers there. I'm not planning to go personally, partly because I'm getting a bit old for that malarky and partly because my dog Jet is now too old to leave with someone else.
