lens adapters?

hey!

can you buy a lens for almost any dslr and use an adapter to make it work? if so will it AF? what adapters do you need etc?
in short i would like a Tamron SP 35-80mm f2.8-3.8 to use on my D90 it is an adaptall2 so with an adaptall2 nikon mount will it work?
I also want to play with a Konica Hexanon 40mm F1.8 pancake lens - will it work a d90 with Konica AR to Micro Four Thirds adapter?

As you already have a Nikon 18-105 VR lens I don't quite understand why you want to get a Tamron 35-80mm lens doing the same job covering the same mm range. I would rather save my money or get something like Adobe Elements 10 if I didn't already have an editing suit

the Tamron SP 35-80mm is f2.8 the 18-105mm f3.5 and to be honest, i just want to play with them. I already have elements 10, PS5 and lightroom 4 so don't require any additional editing softwares. do you have any ideas on adapters?

Sorry no I don't, I am slowly changing everything over to Nikon as I am not over happy with 3rd party lenses in general.

Yes, but usually with no AF. Prefereably as higher quality as possible (for those with glass in). The metal rings one are a little iffy in that although the quality is not compromised (no extra glass) the light falling on the sensor may not allow you to get to infinity (different position of rear element to the sensor).

Should do - probably in manual only. Make sure the lens has the option of setting the aperture rather than auto.

Again probably. Although isn't there an adapter to the konica? (isn't that the minolta one - should be an adapter straight to nikon rather than going via 4/3rds)...

I have the m42 adatpers (ring and one with a bit of glass). The ring one I found difficult to remove (if it rotates). The glass one softened the pictures a little, and didn't quite make the infinity, although close.
