Anyone recommend a good walk about lens from my Canon 60D. Budget around £300-500 Second hand purchase is fine.

Thanks folks.

I would suggest either the 17-55 f2.8 or the 24-105L. Bot have IS, both can be had for that money used. I have both and the 17-55 is a fantastic walkabout on my 7D. I tend to use the 24-105 on my 6D, but it's pretty useful on the 7D too.

I think what Steve has suggested will probably be very popular choices and come recommended by lots of people...

What lenses do you already own ? How are you finding them limiting - so what the upgrade could be ?

Yep, I'm with Steve as well. I don't use the 24-105 on my 60D as I find it a bit long as a walkabout, but my 17-55 is the reason I kept my 60D.

thanks for the reply s folks...i currently have a 17-55 2.8 but i did want something with a little more range. I was thinking about a 24-105

You will notice the difference in weight - that 24-105 is fairly heavy. If you're used to the the 17-55, the 24-105 is a full 2 stops slower, so take that into consideration also. I'm lucky, the high ISO performance of the 6D means I don't really miss those 2 stops
