Hello all not been on for a while as all my equipment was stolen. I had a Canon 60D with a few lens's my main one was a Canon 70-200 IS that I loved.
Anyway there was a real bargain going for a near new Nikon D5200 with a 18-55mm lens.
Can any Nikon users tell me there thoughts on an equivalent lens to the Canon I had as never had a Nikon before.

Thank You

Denny

The Nikon equivalent would be the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens, though this is a full frame lens whereas the D5200 is a DX APS-C sensor.

As above, it would be the 70-200mm f2.8 VRI, or VRII. Both are exceptionally good lenses. There's an even newer one but it's mega money.

As Dougie says, the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR will behave exactly like your 70-200 IS did - both bodies are crop sensors (actually, the Nikon is a 1.5x crop while the Canon was 1.6x so the Nikon will give you a tiny bit less apparent reach but not enough to matter in the real world!) and both lenses are suitable for full frame as well as crop.
