Hi All,

I'm after a Nikon 16-85mm but is there anything similar within this sort of focal length in other brands that others have/can recommend? My other lenses are 70-300, 50mm (both Nikon) and a Tokina 105mm macro. Budget (2nd hand) is £250 - £400.

Would appreciate all input and views. Thanks!

The sigma 24-70 seems popular but I'm not sure if its going to be any real improvement over what you have.

I have the nikon version and its very good.
 
Out if curiosity, why do you want to replace it? It's a very good lens already.

Replace what? Do you mean the16-85? If so, I don't currently have one. Thanks for the tip on the Sigma.

Oh yes, I'm not reading things again. I thought you had the 16-85 and wanted to replace it.

The 16-85 is a good lens, I think I'd opt for one over the sigma unless I really needed f/2.8.
 
After more than 6000 shots with the 16-85 I found some 25% of these were at focal length 16mm... then swapped it in for a 12-24mm f/4 and 24-120 f/4.
If I hadn't ended up with being a "need-to-go-wider" guy, I would have happily lived forever with the 16-85mm... it's a very good lens!
