Hi all

Time is coming where i need to buy a better lens for the photography im finding im moving into being downhill mountainbiking and motocross/karting etc and currently starting to sell some of my shots at a local level.

currently im using a 18-70 and 50mm f1.8 but thinking i should also have a zoom upto 200mm, been looking at the lower end 55-200 variety but also at the 2.8 (70 and 80-200) lenses out there from Nikon Tamaron Sigma and Tokina which i think will be my better option..

so with a used budget of around £400 any recommendations on what lens to go after ?

my camera is a Nikon D200 but will also upgrade that in the next 6 months..

cheers

Depending where you shoot even 200mm may be a bit short, I've used 500mm at Silverstone, have a look at the Sigma 120-400 and 150-500, you might pick one up secondhand.

I've just bought a sigma 170-500. I couldn't quite stretch to the 150-500 at the time....only time will tell if that was a mistake or not. It hasn't arrived yet but I'm heading to donington with it in march. So we will see.

Thanks

200mm should be fine for me as i mostly get pretty close to the action as with mountain biking and MX etc its easy to get close up, the 200mm 2.8 would get me some nice head on DOF shots :)
