I've booked a trip onto the roof of the O2, I don't want to take a camera bag up there so just an SLR and 1 lens.
Give a choice what would you take?
I tend to like working with extremes so either long or super wide, I think a 10-20 as opposed to a zoom to 300mm or 500mm fixed.
What would others take if they could only take 1 lens?
 
Have you seen what you have to wear to go on top of the roof? Unfortunately you can't take anything with you bar a mobile phone and approved medication. This goes into a set pocket on the suit. No bags or loose items.

"4. Other than as set out in clauses F(b)(1) and (2) above, you are not permitted to take any items onto UATO2 including, without limitation, cameras, videos, MP3 players, ipods, ipads, handbags, headphones, umbrellas or any other personal items."

Sorry mate, despite these rules it's still sold out every day. It's still going to be an amazing experience. You might be allowed to get your phone out at the top on the viewing platform, not sure how strict they are up there.

In light of ACW's response, a Nokia N95, fantastic camera for a mobile phone ;)
