Lens Choice

I cant decide between these 2 lenses

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Lens
Sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM

I like the Canon because of the sharpness of the images even at 200mm but I think ill find the 200mm limiting

I like the Sigma because of its focal length and sharp images but feel the canon is sharper

Any suggestions

Wildlife, Zoo etc generally stuff you cant get close too

In which case I would say 200mm is not enough, although a fantastic lens. The sigma will be best. You will need some practice with the 150-500 but you will get nice sharp shots with it. It will need plenty of light to get a fast enough shutter speed to prevent camera shake though. Or, up the ISO.

Yep, forget the 200mm. Nowhere near long enough for wildlife. Even at a zoo it might be pushing it a bit in most situations!

No sorry
I know someone who uses one of the Sigma 500mm super zooms but I forget which model. He seems to like it and it's certanly quite small and light which is good.
