Where would you recommend in the UK to have a Tamron 17-50 vc cleaned/serviced. My lens seems to be gaining a few dust specks under the front element (I store in lens cases when not in use) I know a small amount of dust should not be a problem, when does it become a problem? also I am finding it softer at 50mm wide open, can this be improved by calibration? Is it very expensive? Worth doing? Any recommendations near to Guildford?

The agents for Tamron are Intro 2020. They serviced an old lens for me some time ago and was surprised at their quick turn round and low cost. Give them a call and ask for an estimate. Their cost included return postage on mine.

Give 1st aid repairs a call (google them....think they are based in Stroud)

I used them recently to fix and service a canon 50mm 1.4. They charged £55 all in compared to the £100 + VAT I got qouted by other Canon service centres....

Assume that their 'good' prices continue through the business and this was not just a marketing ploy!
