lens(es) advice (nikon)

at the mo i have a d300 and a d2xs plus nikon 17-55 f2.8 and a nikon 80-200 f2.8 (twin ring) and for some unknown reason a tamaron 17-50 (vr version)

so advice on what to get is needed i feel im missing something in the middle but dont want to overlap too much also would like a wide zoom for city/land scapes im limited on budget to about 800 ish


so any suggestions .........?

also is there a tc that will work with the 80-200 ??

17-55 and the 80-200 (or 70-200mm VR) is all you need - what you want might be something else!

i'd get an 11-16 and a 1.4x TC, the difference betweem 55-80 is a few steps forward

No, only non-Nikon tcs, such as the Kenko Pro, will work with your 80-200 unless it's the AF-S version.

+1 for the Tokina, had this for a few months and it's become my most used lens, fantastic bit of kit

For the "missing middle" maybe the 24-120 F4 VR ? Or The 85mm F1.4 D? 85mm always seems a very popular lens. You could probably buy the latter and a TC for your budget.
