Lens Fault

Hi

Looking for lens's on ebay and there is a guy on there selling a lens with a fault.
He says the lens got returned to him because it had a 01 fault and he does not have a canon body to try it on. (changed cams)

Does anyone know what this fault is???

What will it affect etc etc

I would really steer clear of anything off E-Bay that states it has a fault,Especially when the guy says he does not know what the fault is.

You have no comeback at all.

Does the Lens have IS, think its a common code when the IS motor packs up.

I think the code 1 is to do with the mount and contact I belive

Err 01 - Communication between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts.

That might be the only problem (dirty contacts), however it could just be the tip of the iceberg. What lens is it?

it is a sigma 70-300 APO auto focus tele/macro lens, well thats the description anyways

I was only looking and curious, it up for 1p at the mo, Ebay is a mine field at the best of times let alone buying something that was faulty.

Well seeing as there's one here on eBay with a buy it now price of £95 LINK
it would have to be pretty cheap to compare... you don't get much of a repair for £95.

I'd walk away from it Spike. No point in getting someone else's problems is there?
