I haven't done too many time lapses before but I have been asked to do one for a forthcoming football match. It's an England game and the venue will be a sell out for the first time since it has been built. I have done time lapses before of crowds, cars etc and have used a 24-70 on the FX D700 but I know I will need to go wider this time. Position wise, it will be on the gantry of the main stand and ideally I want to get all four corners of the ground in view (at a push).
Now I don't have any lens that's goes wider and I've been thinking of hiring a lens for the occasions. But does anyone have any advice on any manual focus Nikkor lenses that I could use or third party? Obviously don't need AF and I don't really feel I will need the metering capabilities too much. Need to be cheap as it will probably be a lens that will only be pulled out of the bag every few months.
