hi guys,

i am planning on going on a round the world trip. i'll be taking my canon 450d and am wondering what lens/s i should go for.

i won't tell you what i currently have in my bag for now!

assuming money wasn't an option (which it probably is) what would you take?

sigma 50-150,
sigma 18-200
150-500 if you don't mind lugging it round.

i too am looking into a round worl trip, and considering a single lens.

I suppose it depends what your doing during your trip. will you be intersted by nature+animals, or are you more into scenic stuff?

i'm hoping to get some motorsport (rallying) in in new zealand, but if i had to go tomorrow with only 1 lens, it'd be my sigma 24-135 f2.8-4
but i wouldn't be interested in the wildlife stuff, just the scenery

it's more upto what you like than what lens is best, every one is ifferent

If your going light then I'd pack a sigma 18-200 OS or similar and a nifty fifty, possibly a flash if you have one but no essential. If money and weight are no object, Canon 10-20, canon 17-55IS canon 70-200 f2.8 canon 300 f2.8 and a few L primes for good measure.

well the nifty fifty will be in the bag for sure.

i like taking candid street shots mainly howecver i'd envisage a lot of landscapes/scenery shots during the trip.

i am thinking about the Canon 24-70 f2.8 L as a allrounder. anyone got any experaince of using this lens?
