Hi
I have a Canon 70d and I do a lot of sports video stuff in low light at night , just wondering if anybody could give me advice on a decent lens for this , sometimes I will be at pitch side other times I will be in the stand .
Thanks
Hi
I suspect any f2.8 lens should help with low light shooting. Focusing with a shallow depth of field will be more difficult with moving subjects. Length of the lens will depend on how you want to shoot the action but I suspect 70-200 may be a starting point. You may be able to get away with the comparatively lower cost option of the f4 lens. For wedding video where the dance floor is often low light we tend for f2.8-3.5 unless we can introduce some light from LED panels. Unfortunately that's not an option in sports.
