Lens for team photo

My best mate's boy plays in an inder 9's football team. He as asked me if i will take a picture of the boy and his team mates, sort of a team photo.
I have provisionally said yes, on the understanding that he will have the only copy. If the team want a picture, then they need to sort out a photographer and pay the going rate.
The question i would like answering is what lens would be most suitable for a cropped body for group pictures. I currently have Canon17-85 is,Canon 70-200L F4, Sigma 120-400 and a nifty fifty. I dont mind spending some money for lens that fits this purpose as i am sure i would use it a several weddings i am going to this year.

The 17-85 should do the job.

Something like a 17-55 F/2.8 would be good for low light at Weddings though too.

Yep, 17-85 is fine, so no need to spend any money on new glass, unless you want the excuse.
