right guys my father is 75 this year and he wants to get back into photography.he used to be a very good wedding photographer but hasnt had a camera since he sold his canon t90 a few years ago.he has decided to buy a canon 60d but he wants a lens something like a 18-105/135.

i dont know what options are available for him as ive never realy looked at lenses of this focal lenght budget at a guess would be £250.00 maximum.

You might just get lucky and find a EF-S 18-135mm IS STM cracking lens for the price
 
IMO both 18-135 (STM and non STM) are very good. I have the first generation non STM for my general walkabout / travel lens and I think it's superb.
 
Have a look for a lens thats split from a kit - will be a white box lens - as this can save some money...

Another option maybe the Canon 28-135IS
