Hi guys,

I was in misfuds today (lush shop they're really sweet and let me try out the lenses on one of their bodies as i left mine at home) and bought a hood for my nifty (aswell as glass....) its a 50mm f1.8 mkII and the hood is an ES-62 how do I put it on as it doesn't go.....

HELP PLEASE

love,
David

u can't put it on with the lens cap on :)

U have to take the lens cover off, then put the filter on, then u have to push the cover on hard otherwise it wont stay on unfortunately.

But if u push it hard it stays on okay.

When you say the hood "doesn't go", what do you mean? What precisely did you try?

I have a hood with clipy bits like my other canon hood, which doesnt clip onto the front of the lens, I believe after much googling that I should have a filter thread to clip it onto (which I don't) So I think I need to email misfuds and sort this out

Mmmm. The ES-62 should be supplied with an adapter ring to enable it to be fitted onto the lens. If Mifsuds didn't include that with the hood, then you definitely want to get in touch with them.

I bought an ES-62 copy from ebay, and that screws onto the filter thread directly.
