Lens hood thread

i have a canon 135 f2 which isn't all that old, few months really and i've noticed the plastic finish on the filter thread becoming a but scuffed (using the included hood)

i doesn't look like any other wear is happening, just the shiny plastic finish. a bit annoying, but i can live with it.

but what i want to know is that is such scuffing normal ?

i have simply removed/replaced the lens hood on the lens. i haven't cross threaded it, turned it too far etc.

I think this is a common problem with this lens having an ill-fitting hood. Not a lot you can do really. If it is new, why not complain to Canon, see if they'll send you another that might fit better.
