Yes
having just bought a sigma wide angle lens and polarising filter i found i could not rotate the filter when the lens hood was in place.
my question is do you guys rotate the filter and replace the lens hood or simply not bother with the lens hood.
also do you normally use exposure compensation to allow for the filter or just meter through the lens.
im just a little confused :bang:
many thanks

With some lhoods you can get you finders in there to rotate it. Others its more difficult and need the hood off, if the camera is on a tripod you can just flag the light hitting your lens with your hand or something instead of putting the hood on if you need to. Sometimes I just leave the hood off in that situation.

You can get a different hood for some lenses that allow you to screw the filter into the end of the hood, they can make life easier in this situation. But to be honest I don't use a CP enough to worry about it and just manage.

If you can do it with the hood on, then fine. Buit I wouldn't worry about leaving the hood off, it's mainly for protection on a super-wide - does very little as there's very little it can do.

Meter as normal with the filter on, and adjust with compensation as necessary. Just as you would without the filter.
