Lens hood

Hi, I've got hoods with both my lenses but I'm not really sure what circumstances they are to be used in!! And what they do!!

They shade the lens from stray light and improve contrast, they also serve to protect the front element of the lens from grubby fingers, rain, and impact against stuff.

I always use a lens hood.

Just think about looking at something on a sunny day and putting you're hand over you're eyes to see it better = hood.

Me too. I'm absolutely 100% sure it makes a difference. I think, maybe.

But most importantly it will protect the front element of your lens, should you accidently knock it against something. I always have my Lens Hood on.
