Lens mount corrosion

Just a quick one, I noticed last night that the lens mount on one of my cameras has a very little corrosion on it and was wondering what was the best way of getting rid? It's the same turquoise-y green that copper goes if that makes sense with a little white around it. It's not on the front where the lens meets it, it's just on the bit that makes it stick out from the camera. (I've tried taking a picture of it to no avail, it's only very small but in a couple of places and I don't have anything macro to get a proper shot of it )

At first I thought it could be fungus or something, but a cotton bud dipped in mould and mildew remover hasn't touched it so it's confirmed its corrosion. Is it worth trying to clean or just get the mount swapped out? If anything at all? Looking on eBay there's s place in China selling the mounts for £23, the other option is send it away to fixation or somewhere. Any thoughts guys and gals?

Another idea, buy a cheap autofocus film camera and swap the mounts over? That's assuming the mount from say an F50 or something is exactly the same? Obviously where the lens attaches is, as is the AF motor, the screws even look similar.

I have a working F90 that I don't want to butcher but I'm tempted to try taking the mount off for a gander? Or do I spend the fiver on a spares F50 and attempt the swap between the older cameras before touching my digital
