lens mount screw?

hi all, I managed to pull out the thread on my lens mount...where could i get one of these ,and what is it called? thanks...

Well the thread is 1/4 whitworth, but I doubt you will get one of those any where! Is it a genuine nikon item? You could try sending an email to a uk suplier.

Just as cheap to buy one from feebay! 12 to 20 quid will get you one.
IF it is the removable ring you are talking about:shrug:

yeah the helicoil kit wasnt the cheapest! Depends what lens mount it is though and if you want to keep it genuine.

Just had a thought! (not often that happens!) try a local clockmaker, he should have alt the right tools to re-thread the mount. Should be cheaper than buying new.

thanks all..its a sigma 150-500, bloody thing came out when i unscrewed it from monopod...mark

Don't overtighten these they're only pressed in.

Give sigma a shout, they can rebush it but they replaced my entire ring mount foc due to lack of spares.

You may have to get it reamed out to 3/8" then use a reducing adapter to 1/4".

Sorry cant help you . But as you said it came out like wire then I would say it was either cross threaded or the wrong thread.
