Lens over expose?

Was shooting the other day and I felt something weird had happen.

When something over expose on my photo i usually think is my D7000, because when using matrix mode i sometimes get over expose photo but that can easily adjust or use centre weighted metering.

The strange thing is when i use Aperture mode and stop down the lens say from 2.8 to 4 the 4 is more over expose during a out door scene.

Was wondering anyone seen this problem before?

I use the Nikon 28-70 f2.8 lens by the way and D7000

yeah, i put some sample up tonight but after thinking about it, it could be my technique etc.

i hope is user error in this situation lol. But when thinking about it i have only 2 lens that have a aperture ring. This nikon big beast and the nikon 50 f1.8 AF-D. Both is a very sharp lens but histogram tells me the exposure goes to the right side, but i have to test it fully to make sure is not user error. My AF-S lens is fine.
