I have been looking at maybe getting a lens pen and was wondering what peoples thoght on them are?

Do you use one or not?

And if not why not?

If you use one which one would recommend getting?

I use them. Not often but then again, I don't need to use them often! I use the original big, round one on filters and the smaller rounded triangular one (called a SensorKlear) on my sensors (when a self clean and a blow doesn't do the job). Both work very well and keep their places in my bag. I treat the SensorKlears as a one shot solution - after their use as a sensor cleaner, they get relegated to use on less delicate things (or at least less critical things) like rear/top screens, viewfinders, 'phone/iPod screens etc. I bought several from 7dayshop a few years ago and still have a couple of virginal ones left - they were on special offer so very cheap, hence the one-shot being not too expensive.
 
I have a couple that I hardly ever use - because I hardly ever clean my lenses with anything other than a rocket blower.
 
I use them all the time, I say them, because I have lost 3! They do the job as far as I'm concerned. In fact, just bought the LensPen SensorKlear Loupe Kit and it's a bargain at that price.
AndyRed kindly offered to clean my sensor with his and show me how!
 
I would be lost without my LensPen. In fact I like them so much I have 2 or 3 of the "normal" sized ones and one of the smaller varieties which is excellent for getting into the "nooks and crannies". Just remember to give the cap a 1/4 turn every time you replace it as this is how the tip is kept "working".

I hardly ever use my LensPen to clean my lenses as I'm very careful with them to start with. On the occasions I do use them they do a very good job. A quick blow with a Rocket Blower first, then a brush and polish with the LensPen and then a wipe with a good microfibre cloth to finish it off. The pen is great for removing fingermarks if someone has put their hands all over your lens as well. For a fiver I wouldn't be without one. I've also got the SensorKlear kit for cleaning the sensors too, they are very easy to use and give it a very thorough clean too.
