Works out of the box,just use it and look at the results.
If you're not happy use the AF microadjustment or send it to Sigma for calibration.

Agreed but do not be surprised if it is not tack sharp at 500mm wide open. You will probably ned to close it down a couple of stops to get it sharp. This is not a focus issue, nor will you change it by altering the focus.
