lens protection

will be mostly used indoors/macro studio work,so basicly i think i need just a plain protector.....no filtering

None is my answer, what are you protecting it from if indoors? not salt ar at coast no sand or dust....

it was more about keeping the dust/fluff out of those nasty nooks and crannys than actual lens protection ( it being inset as it is )
 
I wouldn't use one if you were using it inside, save your money for something else :thumbs:
 
No - for indoor use you can leave it off - and I'm a zealot when it comes to filters - always on, all the time.
Just use proper blower-brush to get the dust motes off and keep it under wraps when not in use.
More dust gets on cameras when they're not being used and stored incorrectly that when you're waving them around...
 
I protect mine - just a uv filter, just to protect the lens from being licked by the dogs if I poke it too close to their noses! :)
