Apologies if this has been asked before.....

Can i use a Sigma 10-20 f3.5 on my Canon 1d mkiv,if anyone uses this combo would be great to hear..

Cheers...

Yes. You can use it on FF cameras too, and it will fit and function mechanically, but it's designed for APS-C sensors so it won't fully cover larger formats. You will get vignetting, ie dark corners to the image. It'll probably be okay at the longer end.

Usual caveat with Sigma, it might fit but that doesn't mean it "will" work. Some of their older lens have been reverse engineered (not sure if its true in this ones case) so may not work if the mk4 was brought out after that lens. I have some older Sigmas that wont work on my 5D3 but are fine on my wife's 50D.
Try before you buy would be my suggestion.

Thanks for the advice guys,i was concerned about the vignetting, but more so about actual damage to the 1d mechanism!(which Richard has cleared up thanks)
Matt i would like to try first but this is an ebay sale.....
I'm not in a rush so will do a bit more searching,i've never used third party lenses but fancied a go with this one,it does make it more tempting to be
able to use this on both crop and Apsh/full frame
