As my other thread, my 35L has developed a fault. The lens has become very soft and everything has a ghost halo around wide open. I'm guessing an internal lens is out of alignment.

I'm a CPS Gold member (only joined last month) so what do I do about repair?

+1 for Elstree, wouldnt take it anywhere else.

I'd sell on ebay with that description if it's out of warranty and buy another one. Canon will make it better (within some mysterious tolerance levels) but this may or may not make it acceptable

I was very impressed with Elstree when I sent my 100-400 there. The lens came back like new (better than when I bought it second hand) with many parts replaced for free as a good will gesture - they only charged my the standard service charge.

I only use Canon Elstree. I find they are able to stick to your repair budget better and the technicians will go out of their way to work something out for you. Four repairs this year and all very pleasant experiences.
