Sup guys!

First post!

Riiiight, I have a Nikkor 50mm 1:1.2, but it's been sat in our garage for quite some time and has began to develop (No pun intended :P) fungus between the front elements.

Firstly, would it be cost effective to get this sorted out professionally?

Secondly, any idea roughly how much it costs as I have no idea?

And finally, where could I get it done? Around Gatwick area :)

Thanks a bundle!

I think it all depends on what the lens is worth to you. Have a nose around on the web as I'm pretty sure that someone will have written up instructions on how to dismantle, but be warned, reassembly is always much trickier!

Last week a friend was going to dump a Canon 50mm (the mark 2 version) that was riddled with dust but I asked him for it. I handed it back to him a few days later with not a speck of dust and it netted me a case of beer and meant that he didn't have to fork out for a new lens.

Another alternative might be to give this chap a nudge to see if he would be willing to take it on http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/eddiehouston1545

(I have nothing to do with this ebay seller, I've just been impressed with the look of the lenses that he sells)
