Lens service ?

got a cpl of oldish sigma lenses 70-210 f2.8 and a sigma 28-70 f2.8 both nikon af-d fitting got them from the loft to use on the d200 after my new equip was stolen

there looks to be some dust inside both but most annoying is a 1mm spec just of centre of the long zoom

is it worth servicing these as they are quite old now ...mind you they still both work well ......and if is where do you recommend as i cant find anyone in norwich to do it also what should i expect to pay ??

I wouldn't worry too much about dust as all lenses, particularly zooms, attract dust over a period of time. Unless your lens was absolutely caked with dust or fungus, it's extremely unlikely to have any effect on your final images.

thanks ....am away out tomorrow will put a few shots on and see what the results are like .......as far as i can remember these both produced fairly decent images at the time i bought them
