I am currently a newcomer to this DSLR lark after a while with P&S and I have a 500D with a standard kit lens. (18-55 IS) and I'm learning some good tricks and taking some good photos but I feel I could do with a bit more reach.
Now my brother has a Nikon and has a 18-200 VR (new ish f3.5-f5.6 iirc) but I'm not bothered about the difference between the 135 to 200. However reading up on the Cano 18-135 it has been given critism for being soft round the edges and needing a slighting higher aperature to get away from this.
Now I'm asking if anyone here has one and if they are having issues with it and thus is it a worthwhile upgrade? Or is there another lens I should consider?
