Lens Upgrade (Canon)

I bought my first DSLR last summer, a 500D with its 18-55IS kit lens and i also bought a Sigma 70-300 APO DG. Im now at the stage where i want to upgrade. I mainly shoot aviation so something with decent reach is a must. My budget is upto about £600 and i an open to going 2nd hand if required.

Any assistance and advice will be much appreciated.

The best lens for your budget and shooting requirements IMO is the Sigma 150-500 OS. You can get it new from www.panamoz.com for around £600 and the IQ of it is great, the OS system is amazing (I managed to shoot handheld at 1/10sec with decent results), the AF is fast and accurate and the range is superb. I used it at Waddington airshow recently and got some great shots even though the weather was poor.
