Hi guys

After yet more advice. I have the kit lens that came with my 400D and also the canon 70-300mm lens

Now I was looking to bridge the gap between the two with a canon 28-135mm. (ok not everyones choice, but just gives me a bit more flexability)

Now I went to local jesops and these sell for around £350, so looked on ebay and they are on there for £228 ish new.
I emailed one of the guys on ebay and asked what the white box meant and he said that it would either come in origional box or it would be in a plain box(white) but he guarenteed me that they are new.

Now I got to thinkin that these MIGHT have been seperated from a brand new camera so these would be a kit lens.
So my question is this, if it is a kit lens then what would be the difference in IQ between the ones in Jessops brand new for £350 and the ones these guys are selling on ebay for £228 ish.

I know they MIGHT be even refurbished so hence the lower price but they come with warrentry so not really fussed, just interested in opinions.

Thanks

Spike

If they are the same Canon lens which it sounds like they are the difference isn't the unit (they could have come off the same production line on the same day) the difference is that Jessops have to pay rent on high street shops and Ebay sellers don't ;)

NB also the warrenty may be slightly different if it was a kit lens now seperated.

The cheaper "white boxed" version will be split off from a body/lens kit.... the lenses will be indentical though.
