Hi all

New member Steve here

I am wanting to improve my digital photography and so have joined this busy looking forum

I have a Fuji Finepix S9600 and am thinking of getting a telephoto lens for this - seems like choice is limited, sadly!

Please can anyone tell me if there is any difference at all in the following 2 lenses, apart from physical size that is.

Raynox Pro2020 2.2X Telephoto Lens AND Opteka 2.2X HD Telephoto Lens

I am most interested in photographing birds,

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum.

I started out with the Fuji 9500 and tried a 2.2 teleconverter (cant remember the make) and to be honest I wasnt that impressed. Loss of sharpness was massive and the weight on the end of the Fuji's sliding lens scared me to death.

I would suggest you scrap ideas for a converter for your S9600 and get a DSLR. You could get a good old Nikon and then just a cheap 70-300. This will give results far superior to the bridge and would be nicer to use,
