Depends what you want to spend, the 50mm makes a good portrait lens for a small outlay. An 85 or 135 is equally good. Depends on the size of the area you have to photograph in as to which is most convenient.

It's a good start and maybe add an 85/1.8 or 100/2 for a little flexibility.

For the price it's excellent, and a good lens to learn portraiture with, it has the ability to throw the background completely out of focus while remaining sharp.
