So now I'm going to be using my 120-300 for less gear-friendly sports, with mud + gravel flying at me, suddenly I see the point of these 
However, the stingy student in me objects to paying £70 for something that I'm sure costs less than a tenth of that to make, so I was wondering if there are any alternatives?
I'm not too fussed about colours, it's not really for camo, more for protection. However, now I think about it, what's a good 'standard' camo type pattern, as I might be doing a bit more wildlife stuff when I get home, and it could be useful!
