hi all, hope this is not a stupid question, but i'm doing a dance event for a local dance school.the venue will be in darkness, apart from the multi-coloured stage lighting ,my question is this, would a 300.00mm,60.00mm f2.8 because of the size of glass.let in more light than say a 70.00mm-200.00mm f2.8,would the bigger glass let more light in for a given aperture???

Nupe... the aperture number system is supposed to sort all that out for you and make it a brain out simple comparison process :D

f2.8 is the same on all lenses :D

Of course the framing and field of view may make a difference. For example if you're shooting the whole stage you may get a higher shutter speed at f2.8 than if you zoom in on one guys face :D unless his face is very well lit and then out course it's that shot that'll get you the higher shutter speed :D

thankyou,i thought as much, but thanks for the confirmation,i guess it was a stupid question after all!!!
